Indulge in the Uniquely Singapore Experience

After a long period of busyness and the down mode recently, I think I really need a short break to renew the enerygy that almost dried out now. Speaking of which Nuffnang is giving a chance to win an exclusive invites to its glamorous First Asia Pacific Blog Awards with a sponsored and planned tour in Singapore~! *transportation and accomodation provided*

Wow! What a great opportunity that is not to be missed!

Obviously, I am not up to par to even get a nomination for the said award, so I'm fine, but definitely not going to give away the chance of winning an exclusive invites to this red carpet event and the chance to indulge myself in a fully sponsored holidays, hihihi. ;) *eventhough I'm a bit sad that few of my all time favourite blogs did not make it through but hey, at least IniBelogSaya and Redmummy is there* But this is not an issue anyway (at least to me).

So back to the topic, question no.1:
WHY you should be given this opportunity to experience the rich blend in culture, cuisine, arts and architecture of Singapore.

Well, I have few reasons in hand to show that I really deserve this great holiday, *pweety sweety please Nuffnang* and the list goes as below:

1. After a very hectic weeks, I need a break from all the demanding schedules and cores.
2. I need a ME time and this could be my chance to indulge for one.
3. My passport is due next year, so let me have another foreign immigration stamp on it. Hehehe.
4. Shopping? Is this a valid reason on earth?
5. To enjoy the delicious local cuisines, hence be able to add more info on my Makan-Makan blog label. =P
6. Final solid reason: I have never been to Singapore. So, let me have this precious chance to at least experience it once in my lifetime. ;)

I think number six is the most solid reason above all. I have never win any big prizes in a competition before and if I win this, it would be among the best and amazing things ever happened in my life. *No harm trying kan?*

And question no.2:
Plan your dream 1-day itinerary (day and night) as a traveler visiting Singapore. You should mention and describe where you would like to visit, shop, eat, party, chill etc, and why you would love these places.

Aha! Let's make use of the planner in VisitSingapore to create my own customise itinerary in Singapore. Hihi.

(Full day plan)
10am to 12pm: Sentosa Island (Fort Siloso Tours)
2pm to 4pm: Sentosa Island (Underwater World)
4pm to 6pm: Sentosa Island (Spa Botanica)
7pm to 9pm: Songs of the Sea
10pm onwards: Night Shopping

Lunch: Tastes of Singapore (Imbiah Lookout)
Dinner: The Garden

Fort Siloso

Built by the British in the 1880s to protect the western entrance to the Singapore harbour, Fort Siloso is the only preserved British coastal fortification in Singapore today. Located at the western tip of Sentosa, the fort became a concentration camp for POWs (Prisoners Of War) during the Japanese Occupation from 1942 to 1945.

In 1967 when the British troops departed, the island was handed back to the Singapore government. Less than a decade later in 1975, under its new custodian Sentosa Development Corporation, the Fort was granted a new lease on life - its doors opening to the public for the first time.

For many veterans and their families, it serves as an important window to Singapore’s colonial past and a poignant reminder of the war years.

Underwater World

The Underwater World oceanarium on Sentosa is home to more than 2,500 fishes from 250 different species. Start your tour with the Touch Pool for some 'hands on' experience with starfish, stingrays and if you dare, baby sharks. Then venture into the ocean depths via a moving travellator that ferries you through an 83-metre-long acrylic tunnel. All around you, sharks, stingrays, eels and schools of fish glide past – engrossed in their own world. For those who don't mind getting wet, interactive programmes such as 'Dive with the Sharks' or 'Dive with the Dugong' are available upon advance booking.

Spa Botanica

Singapore's first tropical garden destination spa. Set in the grounds of The Sentosa Resort & Spa on the idyllic island of Sentosa, Spa Botanica is the preferred retreat for both local residents and international tourists. With state-of-the-art facilities, mud pools, float pools and Galaxy steam baths, Spa Botanica offers the perfect balance of modern amenities, traditional beauty and health practices.

Songs of the Sea

Songs of the Sea brings you a mesmerizing show with a live cast and dramatic effects pyrotechnics, water jets, brilliant lasers, special computer imaging, captivating music and stunning flame bursts. It's a one-of-a-kind entertainment that's not to be missed. Songs of the Sea is an outdoor, rain or shine event.

Last but not least, shopping! I save the best for last. ;)

Actually, I'm looking for a mini romantic vacation with my husband, not a truly luxurious experience but something light and simple yet a perfect romantic getaway. So, I think this customised itinerary serves us best. After all, one day is really-really not enough to enjoy countless of fascinating tourists spots in Singapore. Right?
