TIPS KEMAS BEG SEKOLAH ANAK DARJAH SATU

TIPS KEMAS BEG SEKOLAH ANAK DARJAH SATU

Sebenarnya ini post yang I tulis dekat FB, which untuk membantu kawan-kawan yang ada anak nak masuk darjah satu. TAPI, ramaiiii rupanya share post ni sampai jadi viral. Sort of haha. Traffic jam sekejap FB tu. So I copy balik everything I wrote there, may this post be helpful to all parents out there especially yang ada anak darjah 1-2.

TIPS KEMAS BEG SEKOLAH ANAK DARJAH SATU. Lagi-lagi boys hehe. Sebenarnya applicable je untuk lower primary, sampai budak-budak besar sikit dan pandai urus buku and barang-barang sekolah. 2017, Aiman darjah satu and Adam dah darjah dua, so adalah pengalaman sikit yang kita belajar dari tahun 2016 dulu hehe.

KEDAI ALAT TULIS MUMMY

Ini kalau hilang stationery, nak mintak baru, Mummy charge lima kupang sorang. Tu dah diskaun dari bookshop sekolah ok. Organize everything in one place. Senang especially for the busy days ahead. This year, crayons and watercolors semua all prepared. Tak macam tahun lepas, tak tau apa Adam belajar apa masa Pendidikan Seni, tau tau time nak exam ada yang kena guna crayons, ada yang watercolors, ada yang kertas warna and etc. Ha, kelam kabut masa tu nak pilih soalan mana nak jawab sebab bahan tak cukup hehe.

Plus, bila letak setempat ni mudah untuk orang lain tolong jugak. Sebab next year, ada baby, kalau Mummy tak sempat tengok, boleh mintak tolong Ayah, Maktok ke Tokwan ke and senang nak bagitau dekat mana barang-barang. Terutamanya the daddy. Kalau kita minta tolong cari barang, kena exact location tu dengan pandangan berapa degree ahahaha. Sebab dia takkan tengok tepi sikit ke, bawah sikit ke, belakang sikit ke. Heheh.

NAME STICKER LABELS

Jimat masa menulis hehe. Big and bold, ini kalau hilang juga taktau nak kata apa la. Kalau tersalah masuk beg kawan ke apa, senang kawan nak perasan and boleh pulangkan balik hehe. Tahun lepas rajin tulis each and every book, tapi tahun dua anak sekolah hahaha sudah tiada keupayaan nak tulis. DIY sticker senang. Tak cukup boleh print lagi.

LABEL BARANG-BARANG

This year Mummy labelkan semuaaaa barang. Termasuklah 48 batang pensil warna sorang, dua orang dah 96 batang. Yerlah, kalau anak kita pakai Faber Castel, kawan sebelah pakai sama, dahhh tiba-tiba dalam box tu ada dua warna biru la, merah la. So semua benda I label.

Dengan pesanan berulang kali, "bawa balik barang-barang yang ada label nama saja. sebab anak mummy dengan ayah nama dia Adam Haris and Aiman Haris only". Tu pun Aiman jawab, "kalau barang baru beli from bookshop, takda sticker? so tinggallah dekat sekolah". Lepas tu dia kata kalau kawan cabut sticker, barang nak tinggal dekat sekolah jugak ke. Isk, banyak pulak kebarangkalian dia.

STICKER LABELS

Waterproof. Tulisan tak payah lengkoi lengkoi sangatlah. Biar clear clean bold. Senang anak kita baca, senang kawan-kawan dia baca jugak. Yang tanya mana buat sticker silver ni, I buat dekat Ikano. Yang ni kecik je, just nice untuk label barang-barang sekolah. RM6-7 for 100pcs.

Selalunya booth-booth dekat hypermarket Giant or Tesco ada jugak jual stickers ni. Buat dapat terus. Sticker besar for books je I design and print sendiri, guna sticker paper beli from bookstore.

EMERGENCY MONEY.

RM2 pack & seal. Ini sebenarnya Maktok Adam punya amalan. 😂😂 Kita selit dalam beg belah bawah. Or macam Adam & Adam, dalam bag tu ada satu compartment untuk file, so kita letak dekat situ.

Explain to them what the money for. Selalunya Adam guna kalau time bekal tertinggal, duit belanja lupa bagi or tiba-tiba ada buku tulis yang tak ada then kena beli from bookshop. Or ada la sekali dua dia bagi time donation.

Kena pesan jangan beli benda merapu, jangan tunjuk pada kawan and etc. Ini pun masa awal-awal dulu, Adam pi jadi ceti dekat sekolah. Kerja dok bagi kawan pinjam duit. Tapi kalau dah hari-hari, macam kena pau pulak. So kita orang pesan, "either you jaga your duit, or lepas ni tak ada duit belanja langsung dah." Tapi ni Adam la, sebab dia memang tak beli makanan merapu or jajan. Aiman nanti haha taktau la apa cerita.

EMERGENCY STATIONERY KIT.

Ha, banyak betul emergency pack eh. Tapi percayalah sangat berguna. Tak berat mana pun. Pack duit and pack alat tulis ni sorok je dalam compartment belah dalam beg tu. Adam pernah tertinggal kotak pensel masa exam akhir tahun. Panik Maktok dia hehehe. Tapi dah tau ada spare kit dalam beg sekolah dia, so kurang sikit kerisauan, but still pergi hantar jugak kotak pensel dia. Ni Maktok punya idea jugak. Maybe sebab Maktok cikgu kot hahaha so dah tau dah possibility kes-kes macam ni.

POCKET FILE.

Penting jugak. Pocket file. Sebab budak-budak ni dekat sekolah banyak guna kertas, lagi-lagi standard one during the first month. Banyak drawing, coloring, writing on paper. Tak termasuk derang koyak buku and buat drawing. 😂😂😂 Kadang-kadang tak siap kerja dekat sekolah, cikgu suruh sambung dekat rumah. Kalau tak bagi file, dia suka hati je lipat and sumbat je dekat mana-mana dalam beg. 😂😂 Kadang-kadang crumple kronik kertas tu. 😅

Ni untuk lower primary la, sementara nak pandai urus buku and barang sendiri. So far, pocket file ni bertahan. Bukan plastik lembik tu, nanti lunyai jugak akhirnya. Kalau yang macam box tu, takut berat beg. Sebab Adam dulu, rasa macam beg sekolah dengan tuan pun sama berat hehe.

REVIEW: Brainy Bunch Islamic Montessori

REVIEW: Brainy Bunch Islamic Montessori

Disclaimer: Ini hanya personal review, according to our own experience, the goods and the bads. Not in any way to promote nor to give adverse feedback.

First, why we choose Brainy Bunch?

Mainly sebab area I tinggal belum ada Islamic Montessori/Kindy masa tu. Masa tu lah, 2014. I wanted to send my kids to this awesome kindy in Desa Parkcity (dah register and paid deposit pun) but somehow my mom reluctant to send her cucus there.

Fees BBIM rasanya tak perlu share sebab boleh dapat pun dekat website Brainy Bunch. Of course ada increase dari 2014 to 2016 ni ha. Quite costly I must say, so being a first time parents yang anak mula-mula masuk tadika, bila kita bayar mahal, expectation kita agak tinggi. Tapi yer lah, I guess Brainy Bunch ni depends pada outlet kan. Kalau yang HQ mungkin tip top lah. Kalau yang lain-lain bergantunglah pada operator. Not that everything about this place is bad, tapi ada lebih dah kurang nya.

Pernah jugak I bising, apesal insect pun kena bawak? Lemon kena bawak? Tak masuk ke dalam bayaran yuran mahal tu? Tapi hmmm mungkin they want us parents to participate in kids learning activity. So I diam kan aje. Issue tak besar pun haha.

2014 I register Adam & Aiman together. Adam 5 tahun, Aiman 4 tahun. Adam ok, he likes everything about the school but not Aiman. Hari-hari dia mengamuk tak nak pergi sekolah. The only reason "ada auntie garang". I am not sure what defines "garang" masa ni sebab kita pun taknaklah baru start schooling dah nak kecoh check itu ini. I play cool dulu lah. Until one day Adam told me, "Adik kena marah dengan Auntie tapi not his fault". Aiman pun kata bukan his fault. Not sure what was the incident tapi I rasa maybe Aiman near the scene ke apa, so dia pun kena denda jugak.

No, I tak pergi pun sekolah tanya Auntie dia itu ini. First, they just have to learn that certain things in life are tough. Once in a while this unfair-inequality and such happens. Live with it. Andddd I pun tau Aiman tu macam mana. Fast forward, this auntie-garang issue pun senyap.

But still Aiman tak suka sekolah. He said boring, main-makan-main-repeat and for most he doesn't like to be compared. So I got it. Montessori method kan mix age group, so Aiman was just 4 that time, dalam same group ada age 5 and 6. Dia pernah kata Auntie and friends gelakkan drawing dia. Elephant. Wellll, memanglah elephant dia nampak macam alien mana tah haha tapi kid memang cepat down kalau drawing orang lain nampak elephant, tiba-tiba dia punya nampak lain. :P So I rasa Aiman memang tak sesuai dengan montessori method.

Adam on the other hand ok je. Cuma Mummy yang tak ok, sebab Mummy tak berapa tahu apa sebenarnya Adam belajar dekat sekolah. Even after one year, Adam still tak boleh baca betul-betul especially yang Bahasa Melayu. Mula-mula I was like, "apa benda ni pergi sekolah tapi macam tak reti apa?" tapi lepas dah fikir dengan lebih positive, I told myself, everything must start from home. So tak apa lah, kalau ditakdirkan sekolah tak membantu sangat, Mummy buatlah my part at home. At least ada something for you. Dalam hal belajar anak, mana boleh semua lepaskan pada sekolah. (Walaupun tak puas hati sebab reading takde improvement).

Tapi, always look for other good points. Ada benda yang mungkin tak sempat buat dekat rumah, anak kita belajar di sekolah. Doas, solat, surah recitation, yang itu banyak dia belajar. Alhamdulillah. English superb. Tapi BM memang ke laut hahaha.

Masuk 2015, Adam 6 tahun, Aiman 5 tahun. I tak masukkan Aiman to BB. In fact, Aiman tak sekolah pun hahaha. Duduk rumah belajar dengan Mummy je. Adam continue di BBIM for another year, tahun depan darjah satu dah.

Masa 6 tahun ni lah BBIM buat extra reading class after the normal school hours. From 12pm-1pm. Kita parents ni, mana ada yang positive je, selalu banyak nak negative dulu kan? I pun sama mula-mula tu. Eh apesal dah 6 tahun baru nak extra reading class? Selama ni main apa dekat sekolah? Sungguh itu lah persoalan dia. Tapi sekejap je, syukurlah lepas tu at least they did something to make sure my kid ready for standard one in 2016. Just in few months Adam boleh baca. But in English haha. BM dia masih ala-ala.

Bila fikir balik, memang dari awal I bukan nak force bab academic sangat, just nak bagi dia sekolah and make friends. And I sendiri yang taknak masukkan kids ke tadika yang book-based.

Critical thinking, analytical, reasoning yang tu Adam memang score. Kita boleh perhati anak kita bila sekolah ni pemikiran dia macam mana. Adam just don't accept A as an A. Kalau dia rasa A tu ialah B dia akan kata B dengan reasons dia sendiri. If you still kata itu A, then explain to him dengan logic. Don't tell crap. Dia selalu ada few extra plans in mind, jarang dia settle with only one option.

Math superb. Tapi ni mungkin sebab dia suka Math since baby. Tak paham betul, sebab Mummy tak suka Math hahahaha. So no issue on this.

Hal-hal minor lain cuma part makan lah kot. Sebab dia selalu komplen foods sekolah boring, asyik minta nak bawak bekal to school. Katanya biscuits and koko krunch je. Hmmm yang ni I tak check. Sebab taknaklah kecoh, we rather prepare bekal for him than to make fuss about everything.

Senang cerita observation I pada Adam selama 2 tahun dekat Brainy Bunch ni ok je lah. Biasa je. Tak terfikir dia ni terlalu outstanding tapi tak rasa dia left behind. Ada benda kita suka, ada benda tak. Tapi pada yang tak berapa best, I halalkan je masa tu sebab fikir mesti ada ilmu lain yang Aunties dah tolong ajar, mungkin lagi bernilai dari benda-benda minor yang I tak puas hati.

Aunties are nice after all. Very friendly, layan anak kita baik. Cukuplah.

But life is full of suprise. Kadang-kadang benda yang kita nampak sebenarnya tak cukup pun nak nilai apa-apa.

Bila Auntie dia informed me Adam is the Child of the Year for BBIM (this outlet), I terkejut. Selama ni Adam I observe biasa je, tidaklah sampai nak imagine dia baca speech depan crowd sebab Adam yang I kenal jenis reserve. No, I was wrong. Itu dekat rumah. Dekat rumah cuma ada dia and Adik.

Wallahi, as a mom to a 6yo boy, I cuma nak dia boleh baca and spell and understand instructions so boleh masuk standard one dengan aman. That's all haha. Sangat tak ambitious Mummy hang ni Adam. Bukanlah tak ambitious tapi rasa aiyoooo baru 6yo let him play lah. Like that.

But look at this. Dia bagi speech. Thank you Allah. Thank you Aunties. Thank you so much. Not everything in life is about academic stuff.

Tahun 2016, Aiman masuk balik Brainy Bunch. Hari-hari drama gila pagi-pagi tapi masuk je pintu sekolah terus ok. I asked him 'why cry every morning?'. Aiman jawab, "Adik memang nak nangis je lah hari-hari, nanti sampai sekolah Adik diam ler". Korang boleh imagine tak sakitnya kepala I ni? Hadoih. Auntie garang yang lama dah tak ada. Auntie garang baru pulak. But no issue to me on this, asalkan tak cedera patah riuk anak kami sudah.

Dah ada experience dengan Adam Haris dulu, kita tak letak high expectation untuk Aiman score academically dekat BBIM. I still ajar dia read, spell and basic Math at home. But I do hope (and really hope) that he will learn all other stuff yang Mummy tak boleh ajar dekat rumah. So much of it, sikit je yang Mummy boleh tolong. The rest I still need Aunties to help me.

Sekurang-kurangnya dia biasa Solat Dhuha. Kita parents mampu ajar, tapi kita tak berapa ajar kan? I feel bad about it huhu. Depends on how you look at it. Kadang-kadang bila kita bayar mahal, kita expect serba serbi tip top. Yes I am like that. Tapi kadang-kadang kita tak tahu Allah nak bagi tip top perkara yang mana. Terlebih terkurang saya halalkan dan saya harapkan Aunties didiklah anak saya baik-baik. Sebab tak semua benda kami as their parents boleh buat.

Adam & Aiman: Your 1st Day of School

Adam & Aiman: Your 1st Day of School

Adam & Aiman Sayang,

(Read WE = Mama & Ayah)

We can't believe that the day has finally come. Like finally-finally-finally. Well, after several episodes of playschool-registration-cancellation, we decided that this must be it. Even until now, we are not quite sure whether we are ready for this, but it comes anyway. You boys are going to school. Ohh, how time has flown.

It just a kindergarten, hello? What's a big deal about it? -- some may say that. To us, this whole thing marks the real beginning of your journey in becoming who you are. Rockstar? Pilot? Engineer? Rugby Player? or whatever you choose to be when you grow up, this is just the beginning of your new adventure. Your first solo year to be exact; independent of Mama, Ayah and everyone else at home.

Weeks before even until the night before your first day of school, I explained that you boys will be going to school, see new friends, learn new things but worry not, you guys will still see each other anyway. Abang nodded quietly, trying to take it all while Adik replied excitedly, "Ok yeay! nak pergi school. Abang don't cry ok? Mummy tinggal sekejap saja". Little did you know Adik, that you will be away from the comfort of home, where everything is new and everyone is different.

On the first day of school, we were all very excited, nervous and scared altogether. I told you, "Don't worry, everything will be fine". Trying to act all cool and relax, the truth is I was the one who worried and scared most. In a sudden, I got worried for so many things. Will you ask for help if you need one? Will things be too hard or too easy or too anything for you? Will the teachers and other kids be nice to you? Will you be brave enough to protect yourself? Will Abang be able to protect Adik and vice versa? And to Aiman particularly, will the teachers understand your boisterous energy? What if you get hungry for every one hour? Oh my Aimannnn.

We walked to the school, very slowly (trying to delay the time eyh?) and both of you held my hands tightly. Stood in front of the glass door and as expected, both of you hesitate to go inside. I guess this the point when you realized that Mama and Ayah will not be staying with you all day, and there your tears waiting to stream down your face anytime soon.

We kissed you both on the forehead, gave you one big hug and waved good-bye *and you burst into tears*. Sorry kids that we just had to walk, leaving the crying-Adam-and-Aiman to the Aunties. But I promised that it will only be a quick few hours away from Mama and Ayah and will pick you up on time.

It's day 4 of school today. Abang looks much better now, happy about going to school but Adik, he doesn't seem to be adapting well. I know you will have struggles, or probably feel insecure, but knowing you Aiman, I believe you will be able to handle whatever comes your way with full of confidence. You just need more time to adjust sayang, Insyaallah everything will be fine.

Very deep inside, it's a bit hard to let you go and to trust someone else to look after you two, even for only a short 4 hours. My heart is torn between wanting to have you all day with me, where I can protect you from the crazy world (it's not everything nice as seen) and wanting to let you go out there so you can experience more things than just being home. But I believed, school will teach you many new things, on top of what you have learned so far. There's a lot more to discover about the world we live in and may this be among the first steps you took, that will bring the very best in you.

Only few important notes that Mama and Ayah want you to remember, always:

1st - It's ok to be different because not everyone in this world will share the common things with you. Even Abang and Adik are different from each other, embrace the difference kids.

2nd - Don't be afraid to try something new because you never know how pleasantly surprise things can be. Try Haris, try the new adventure.

3rd - Always follow the instructions BUT it's ok to speak up when necessary. :) Trust me.

4th - Do anything you want or maybe better than anyone has ever done it as long as you be the best of you. Survival in life is about becoming the best you, not the best in class. Remember that, please.

5th - Mistakes just happen. But don't forget to say sorry and learn from it.

Last but not least, regardless if the notes outgrown from just 5 to hundreds, one last thing that you boys should always remember is your FAMILY.  No matter what, we will always be here, ohhh in fact we are here since you were just one minute old. I'm your Mama first but always your bestfriend, remember that. Ok fine, if Mama says no, go ask Ayah - as the tagline said. I'm OK with that, as long as you talk to any of your family members. Or Maktok, Tok Wan, Tok Abah, Jaja, Yaya and the list goes on. :) We love you kids, to the infinity sampai tak boleh kira!

With lots of love, to the moon and back,

Mama.

Brainy Bunch it is. Finally.

Brainy Bunch it is. Finally.

Yer, nampak tu I tulis finally? Haha. Sebab berapa punya banyak dah survey playschool sebelum ni, bayar deposit then burn sebab budak-budak ni tak pergi pun school akhirnya -______-" Tapi next year Adam dah 5 tahun and Aiman 4 tahun, so it's about time for them to go to school. Enough of kesian kena bangun awal every morning (Maktok la tu, asyik kesian je) and enough of takut-sat-lagi-kena-buli-sebab-kecik-lagi (Ayah protective sangat) or apa-apa lah yang takut and kalau tu.

Ni mommy monster dah berkuasa veto. Hahaha. No kesian-kesian, the boys need to mix around with other children and hopefully can help them to develop to their full potential. Insyaallah, academic wise it won't be that hard. ABC, 123, alif-ba-ta, shapes (including those hexagon, pentagon, octagon dah ok), simple Surah(s) also ok, daily Doa(s), basic plus minus Math pun dah ajar, ok lah kot kan. They can eat on their own and dah toilet trained jugak, harap tak ada masalah sangat.

Now it's time to brush up on their social skills. What's going to happen next kena tunggu hari dah masuk sekolah hehehehe. They never been to any daycare before hence I'm expecting several drama episodes to happen for the first few days (or maybe a week of adjustment period? or more? haha) but hopefully everything will be ok for them. I believe the teachers are quite skilled in handling this, so let's leave this matter to the experts.

So now, why Brainy Bunch? Knowing me, I have been so kiasu before, in searching and finding the best playschool for the kids (which they ended up not going to any bahahahhhaha!). But as I get older and wiser (wahhh gitu), I think my tahap kepoh-want-all-tip-top dah turun sikit. I can tolerate to certain percentage of kekurangan that each kindy has.

Frankly speaking, yes there are few schools yang memang tip top in and out (not to mention their fee structure too ahaha) but still they are lacking in one thing. The most important thing of all, Islamic Education. So tak payah nak orang putih sangat, nanti jadi drama Nur Kasih. Adam and Aidil tu. Or in my case Adam and Aiman. Takmo lah kan. So kena lah cari Islamic Montessori.

Being resided in a housing area which Muslim community is not a majority, maka nak cari Islamic playschool agak susah. Most of the options available semua you kena drive luar kawasan. The thing is, my parents are the one picking up my kids from school, so takkan nak mintak drive jauh redah jem semua kan. Fast forward, Brainy Bunch seems to be the closest Islamic Montessori within our radius.

So this is it.

I didn't check for their syllabus, their daily activities and routines, what BBIM is all about, not even their fee structure. So much of pakai redah thing janji anak sekolah T_____T. But I've seen the amazing results from other kids from this school, Masha Allah they are all wonderful.

Just to share with you, I was sold the moment I saw the kids getting ready for solat berjemaah :') Ya Allah, we need this. I don't mind if they want to be a pilot, an astronaut or even a rockstar, janji Iman and Islam kukuh dalam diri. We just need this, our investment in the hereafter. ;)

Aiman & Playschool - Random Babbles

Aiman & Playschool - Random Babbles

: : Ini bukan Kylie Minogue, ini KYLIE MIMAN heheh : :

We have officially registered Aiman dekat Kiddies Patch Desa Park City. Ayah decided to absorb the freaking expensive monthly fee demi kasih sayang untuk anakanda tercinta. Tho I'm a bit macam "alaaa...alaaa" sebab bukan Islamic Montessori, tapi pilihan kami buat masa ini terlalu limited. First, not many playschool + nursery within our area yang nak accept kids below 2 and Aiman will only be 17 months by Jan 2012. Second, adalah few taska yang I dah pergi tengok tapi sesungguhnya kawasan taska sungguh tak convincing. One of it, siap berlalang bagai and ada kayu2 lama dekat compound, bahaya ok? Tapi ada jer parents hantar situ. :P

I don't mind tak posh looking ke apa, tapi 1 teacher over 10 of Aiman? Herghhh, mencari pasal namanya itu. And taska dekat area Taman Ehsan bukan nya rumah banglo ker semi D and not even double story, semua rumah single story. So boleh imagine tak 30 - 40 kids mixing up in one small house? That's a mental torture untuk Aiman.

The thing is, I know my parents memang sangat penat bila jaga both Adam and Aiman (my dad particularly) whereas my husband and me, masing-masing berkerja juga and not the type 8.30 masuk 5.30 sharp boleh balik. Mana nak jaga Adam, Aiman lagi, buat kerja lain lagi, so we decided to hantar Aiman to nursery tapi dengan syarat, envinronment mesti conducive for him, dari segi nak main, nak explore and etc.

Tho we are not looking for a extravagant one tapi kalau boleh biar lah home like sikit. Sadly, taska yang ada, I tell you, tahap berserabut nya lagi teruk dari keadaan rumah kita orang bila ditunggang terbalikkan oleh Adam and Aiman. So do you think we have the heart to leave Aiman dekat tempat yang lebih serabut dari rumah? Of course not.

Then we found Kiddies Patch and that's the only place yang I boleh bagi OK as a green light. Deep inside, macam tak sampai hati nak tinggalkan Aiman dekat orang yang dia tak pernah kenal, new friends and teachers, tak ada Mama, Ayah, Abg Adam, Mak Tok and Tok Wan but what other choices that we have pun? Career kena jaga jugak, sumber cari makan nama nya tuh. Tapi ok lah, sekurang-kurangnya Aiman bukan berpanas bersempit, tidur pun dalam cot, kawasan lapang, menu makan ok lah cuma ada satu I tak berkenan, "Mi Goreng" hahaha. Serious. Tapi I boleh abaikan itu, I'm not going to be real fussy on this nanti karang langsung tak ada nursery. Maybe hari yang menu dia I tak suka, I will bekalkan foods untuk Aiman makan. They are ok with home cooked foods, nanti dia orang panaskan saja. So settle that part.

Sebab ada sorang baby tu, mak dia bekalkan foods hari, siap bagi list pukul berapa minum susu bagai, what to do and what not, complete lah. Tapi teacher cakap, after 3 months, budak tu takmau ikut dah schedule mak dia, hahahaha. Mestilah dia nak join apa kawan-kawan makan ngan main. Hehehe...

Eyh, tapi bila fikir-fikir, tahap cerewet mak nenek I boleh tahan jugak. Hahaha. Abes I gi geledah dapur Kiddies Patch nak tau camna depa handle bottles and formula. Akakakaka! Lupa nak check on steriliser, tapi tak lah kot tu, tapi they are using proper bottle detergent to wash water and milk bottles, hehehe, bukan guna Axion ke apa :P

Then I dah check authorization untuk pick up kids jugak macam mana. Good lah, quite a strict measure taken. Kena bagi gambar and photocopy IC untuk orang yang I authorize boleh pick up Aiman. So sapa-sapa yang claim nak pickup Aiman, tapi dekat form I tak authorize, so tak boleh pickup. So tak risau sangat jugak that part.

Tapi semalam, I just found out Brainy Bunch nak buka dekat Wangsa Maju. TETAPI, nursery dalam shop lot area. -_____-" Potong betullah. Fee murah banyak dari Kiddies Patch. RM650 per month for full day, to be paid on monthly basis. Tapi shop lot?

And the fact that my family memang tak pernah guna khidmat maid Indon, so I pun takdak lah macam nak sangat maid. I rather let the house bersepah ker apa, dari nak bela maid seorang. Tak kuasa lah.

How now? Nak hantar anak pergi nursery pun dah berat hati and itu baru Aiman, yang terkenal dengan jiwa gagah perkasa dia. Macam mana la rasa bila nak hantar anak pergi belajar overseas? Lagi pulak kalau anak perempuan. Hehehe...Tapi ni maybe short term plan je, maybe one year jer kot. Once Aiman hits 3 years old, boleh pergi proper sekolah yang half day basis tu. :)

Adam? Tak plan nak bagi dia sekolah awal, dia tu boleh home school ja. Pergi sekolah awal-awal, I rasa dia boring jer kot? ABC long time ago dah kawtim, same goes to 1-40. Now dah pandai Alif-Ba-Ta. Yeay! And doa makan. And doa tidur. :) Cakap? Nothing to worry, boleh jadi lawyer. Jangan lawan dia, nanti dia pangkah, itu jam jugak kita checkmate!

Apa yang you all rasa bila first day tinggal anak dekat nursery? :'(
See the different in them? Satu boleh duduk diam-diam makan dengan beretika. Satu lagi, haiyoh, kalau boleh dia nak bersila atas meja. -_____-"

Adam ada sikit difficulties bila suruh senyum. Confuse how senyum should be. So I dapat this pic and take it as a precious one. :)

Si mata bulat. Banyak amoi berkenan. Maybe sebab Chinese mata sepet kot, this boy mata terbuntang bulat, tu banyak yang berkenan :P

Kiddies Patch Desa Park City

Kiddies Patch Desa Park City

Kiddies Patch.

I've visited the school this morning and yeehaww! we both have decided to enroll Aiman for next school year which the class will commence on Jan 5, 2012. It's a full day care program which to me is more like an upgrade version of Taska as compared to two others in Taman Ehsan. Upgrade as in ada swimming pool and modern setting, hehehe...By the way, anyone who is interested in running a day care business, please do it in Taman Ehsan Kepong. You are so going to make big bucks out of it, choices kat neighborhood itu terlalu sikit, so less competition there. Hehehe...

My verdict? I can say mostly everything there impressed me so much and you know what, I didn't see any kids crying after being dropped off at school. Semua nampak happy jer waved bye-bye to parents :)  As for the school, probably not very posh like those high end school in Bangsar (say Julia Gabriel) which I also don't know how's the inside, hehehe, but for Kiddies Patch's facilities, layout and environment, to me, its worth what you paid for. Tho my husband is expecting a little bit more extravagant and modern playschool for his Mr.Muka Legend, but to me, I am totally fine and happy with mostly everything there, tho I forgot to check on few other important stuff like menu plan and daily time table. I shall take note on this and check for further details during its open day this Saturday. :)

The kids there are multi cultural (Malay, Chinese, Indian & Foreign) with multi-language being used. Mainly English, then ada BM and basic Mandarin macam tuh. I can see that they focused a lot on child-centered curriculum where kids are free to choose their activity and project. Freedom to act, sesuai lah tu dengan Aiman Haris. Hehe...Most importantly, very homelike atmosphere, so it's stress free for the kids.

Baby room, baby cot with name, cute kan?

 Dining area

Hall area, very spacious!

For now, we have decided to enroll Aiman for the full day program and will see how it goes. And let's say Adam starts to show more interest about going to school, nothing to worry as we are free to change Aiman's program to half day (upon discussion with school management) and slot in his Abang together. Owh, 10% discount for siblings ;)

One thing for sure, all of this is making an impact on our 2012 household budget. :P And it looks like I have to cross few things off the wish list *handbag, ehemm, Sony NEX, ehemmm laptop* The thought of getting new car pun, it's all going down the drain. Hoh! I just realized that Aiman's playschool fee is close to what Telekom paid for my one trimester fee back then in MMU. Tsk.....

Kind of expensive, I know, but this is the best choice we have so far for Aiman Haris. The one that best suits most of my requirements, especially on the safety issue and teacher to student ratio of 1:5. But as expected, high requirement, high jugaklah fee dia. Maka dengan itu, sekian.

Info: For kids age 2-3, teacher student ratio is 1:10, above 3, ratio is 1:15.

My baby is going to school next year~!! *biasalah, parents always get excited when their kids start schooling, kan? kan? kan?*

P/S: Habis dok congak gaji, accounts, Nuffnang advertorial payouts, untung diaper cakes, hahaha, nak bayar yuran sekolah anak. Tapi anak baru 2 tahun. Over!

Play School + Day Care Hunting

Play School + Day Care Hunting

I didn't know it would be this hard for me to find a good play school & day care for my son (referring: Aiman Haris). I thought it would just be as easy as picking up things in a supermarket but no, it is not. Considering my relatively high requirements plus the previous history of going in and out Pantai hospital, school's cleanliness, safety, layout and material arrangement is my number one concern here.

I'm looking for a place which the building and compound is just in a perfect size for Aiman to explore his new world. Not too big macam Tadika Diyana or Villamaria like that but hopefully not too small and confine like one located in this office building. Hihihi...I mean, just enough room both indoor and outdoor for Aiman to roam around yet not putting his safety at risk. Besar-besar sekolah, nanti hilang anak hensem I. :P Well, you never know what Aiman is capable of doing.

On top of that, I need it to be a full day programe (8.30am-5.30pm), located within a given radius from home, play based school (come on, siapa yang kejam nak torture 2yo kid with academic oriented programe kan?), ada attractive outdoor play equipment, NO HOMEWORK, professionally trained teachers, approved by JKM, include parents involvement, English medium, students from mix community and reasonable FEE structure.

But HAHA! The last part; FEE structure, as always will not be on the favorable side. Not a pleasant figure for my pockets, but I will get everything in my checklist marked and checked. Nak cerewet, nak macam-macam, sedia duit jer lah yer dak? Hehehe...
And recently, I stumbled upon this website; KIDDIES PATCH and walla! from the tele-conversation and brochure downloaded from website, I can tell that this school has met most of my requirements for Aiman's playschool hunting. EXCEPT yet again, the fee part because it's going to cost big bucks for just a playschool. RM1100 per month for full day program. *pitam pitam!* To some people, "boleh beli kereta baru weh!" or "boleh bayar rumah dah!" but hmphhh, a new car is not in my wish list whilst house monthly installment is on my husband's kunci kira-kira. Fee will be slightly cheaper for Adam but considering that Adam is very prone to get infected easily by flu and cough, hence sending Aiman to day care is the best option for now. Nak hantar Adam, tapi macam-macam yang kita orang risau. So KIV dulu.

Personally, Adam is on the fast lane already but Aiman, I think, has a lot to catch up. Kesian jugak, no one is there to sit one-to-one and ajar Aiman. Or maybe this little man spesis yang on the move jer, macam mana nak ajar, dia pun takmau nak dengaq. So maybe we need to enroll him into program yang apply specific methodology, preferably Montessori or Reggio Emilia. Learning through play and activity. Kalau buku jangan harap Aiman nak layan. -____-"

Having said that, insyaallah I will be going to visit this school this coming Saturday, so next info I update nanti. But this school has somewhat win my heart lah. *kena gigih buat diaper cakes lagi ni, nak bayar yuran sekolah anak* kuikuikui....
