Hahaha. Ini bukan cerita Jalan-Jalan yang baru. Sepatutnya sambung dari entry lepas pi Penang dulu, tapi standard Shilashower, update selalunya amik masa berkurun. Or most often, tak update terus kuikuikui. Or or or if update pun, half way lepas tu lupa sambung. Travel diary half cooked nama dia.
Ok, ni cerita pi jalan Cameron Highlands awal tahun dulu. Haha, orang lain sebok register anak masuk sekolah, kami berempat sebok pi jalan. Sementara anak kecik tak pi sekolah, tak pi tadika ni, kita jalanlah. Kami suami isteri memang dah lama tak jejak kaki ke Cameron, Adam and Aiman apatah lagi, sah-sah ni first time sampai.
Kita orang lalu jalan Simpang Pulai, jalan lebih besar and kurang berpusing, so relatively easy to drive lah. And sebab dah naik ikut Simpang Pulai, nak turun tu Mat Kown kata kita cuba jalan Tapah pulak, lagi pun dekat dengan KL lagi. Cuba jalan katanya?? OHEMGEEEE!! VERY long and winding road there. In KM memanglah dekat tapi sebab jalan bengkang-bengkok *kaw kaw I tell you* rasa macam berkurun nak sampai bawah. With countless of landslide spots along the way, lagi lah rasa "apesal lama sangat nak sampai bawahhhhhhh ni, apesal kita lalu jalan niiii, apesal apesal apesal haaaaa".
Seriously people, even if you are coming from the South and Tapah exit seems nearer to CH, my 2 cents, please use the Simpang Pulai route. Well yes it's nearer to the top but that's only ON the map! In reality, it can be a very long drive all the way up; narrow road, numerous blind corners and imagine having heavy vehicles moving up the same time? Memang menangislahhh. Imagine lagi kalau hujan sambil lalu dekat spot landslide lumpur belah kanan, belah kiri gaung, sambung meraung pulakkk. Plus, the roads are very narrow and does not offer any space for short pull-overs just in case you need one. So remember, just take the Simpang Pulai exit; excellent road condition and magnificent view of surrounding mountains.
Owh for a record, on the way up tu kan, my darling Aiman threw up on my gorgeous LV Neverfull bag! And my reflex action towards the 'oh-my-elvieeee' incident, I cleaned up the bag first then only Aiman haha. Maybe what my brain was trying to say, "bag tak boleh mandi hence wipe it clean first before it stinks, whereas Aiman boleh jirus mineral water, sabun tepi highway, confirm wangi dah" :P Maybe. Alhamdulillah, bag masih selamat sejahtera sampai hari ini. :P
Ok, sambung. Dah sampai atas terus check-in, alhamdulillah the process was fast and efficient. Sebab off peak season kan, sapa jer yang ada dekat hotel tu. Adalah few couples ber-honeymoon agaknya, sebab inai merai di jari gitu weuweuweuweu. Musim cuti sekolah pun baru habeskan, mesti baru lepas kenduri tu hehehe. As always, hotel book dari website hoteltravel.com :) Nak dapat best rate, kena pandai-pandailah Google kan, cuma I selalu dapat best price from this website. Nasiblah kan.
Century Pines Resort. Stayed for 3 days 2 nights and we chose this hotel mainly because of its proximity to the shops in Tanah Rata and a bit of pengaruh rakan sebaya Munirahpunye :P Then check dekat Tripadvisor jugak sebab nak tengok real photos from guests lain kan. Oklah, to sum up, hotel ni menepati syarat. Tak kurang tak lebih. Eyh, boleh lebih la sikit, sebab bilik luas, compound hotel pun luas. Memang sakan anakanda berdua berlari.
Eyh eyh jap, mungkin boleh bagi banyak points lagi sebab location right smack in the middle of Tanah Rata. Walking distance to shops and restaurants (termasuk Starbucks!), bank and balai polis. Paling best, ada playground depan hotel. Basically location tu memang strategik. Cafe dia biasa-biasa saja, lapang, menu everyday tukar, bolehlah untuk taraf 3-4 bintang. Macam kita cakap sebelum ni, it was off peak, jadi semuanya aman damai, so mungkin komen saya lebih berunsur positif.
Our deluxe room is spacious, simple and neat. Sheets and towels all white, bathroom super clean with separate toilet, iron upon request, electric kettle and mini bar available *and functioning!*, TV with various channels, king size bed yang large enough to accommodate all four of us (more like combined double bed sebab tu jadi besar hehe). View from the room was nice and very pleasant surroundings too, with beautiful pine trees around.
Basically we had a comfortable and pleasant stay there :) For the price that we paid for the two nights stay in Century Pines Resort, all in all this resort is value for money. We enjoyed our stay at this place and will most likely return again soon! Unless you don't mind to spend for a luxury stay at the most expensive and the best hotel in Cameron Highlands (CH Resort) silakan :) Situ kalau dah bayar mahal, nyamuk sekor pun memang amukan :P
